About

Ahmari Benton is a multidisciplinary visual artist that frequently experiments with wet and dry media, collage, and printmaking techniques. The ethos of her work focuses on the interrogation of boundaries, self identity, and social identity within the scope of gender and race politics. She prioritizes opportunities for sustainable adjustments in her studio practice; this often takes the form of repurposing textiles, found materials, or activating found objects.

Bee Frazier is an exploratory art studio that promotes the development of visual literacy skills and a mindful existence through creative interventions. Ahmari is a graduate of Howard University with a BFA in Painting & Fashion Design. She was the third Nancy Prophet Fellow at the RISD Museum, where she explored the convergence of museum interpretation and social activism. She is currently the Associate Educator of Teen Programs at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
